Astonishing Facts Of Paatal Lok: Amazon Prime’s latest web series “Paatal Lok” is a solid thriller. The story is of a Delhi’s Policeman who tries to investigate a failed assassination attempt. The series consists of talented actors and currently has a great hype on the internet.

The team decided to keep the series’s name as Jamuna Paar, but before the start of the shoot, it was remanded and kept as Paatal Lok. Abhishek Banerjee who has played the role of Hatoda Tyagi is also the casting director of Paatal Lok. Series Creator Sudeep Sharma was impressed by Abhishek by his performance from the movie Stree, hence decided to give the role of Hatoda Tyagi to Abhishek.
Abhishek Banerjee wanted to play the role of Imran Ansari in Paatal Lok, who is an Honest Police Officer. He wanted that because he had never played the role of Police officer in any of his movies or series.
The narration of Paatal Lok is somewhat similar to an HBO series, The wire. Sudeep Sharma in an interview said that he always wanted to create something like The wire which has an IMDb rating of 9.3 and many filmmakers take the same as an inspiration.
Jagjeet Sandhu who plays as “Chaaku” in the show is a popular actor in the Punjabi film industry.
He has worked on a lot of big Punjabi films and often had a positive and humorous character.
He firstly denied the offer for Paatal Lok as his role was very dark which might not be appreciated by his fans.
Abhishek faced a lot of difficulty playing as Hatoda Tyagi. To understand a character who has done more than 40 murders, Abhishek started watching crime shows and it took him 1 month to understand and get into the character.
Jaideep who has played the role of “Hathiram” loved his character a lot. He byhearted all his dialogue before the start of the shoot and never demanded script at the time of play.
He also gained weight as per the demand of the character and nailed it to perfection.
Swastika Mukherjee who has played the role of Dolly Mehra(an important character) is a renowned actress in the Bengali film industry. She was also in 2015 released Bollywood movie “Detective Byomkesh Bakshi”.
As per many news reports, Paatal Lok’s story is quite similar to “the story of my assassins.”
Tarun Tejpal founder of Tehelka. com wrote this book. In 2001 he also faced a failed assassination attack.
