Before the pandamic, about 5 years back – Shahid Kapoor delivered his biggest opener ever as Kabir Singh. The film took an opening of more than 20 crores and shocked everyone in the industry. In fact, it was even bigger than Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat, which had been released a year earlier.
It seemed like the Kaminey star was indeed getting at the top of the game. However, pandemic struck, and just like it happened with everyone else, there was a lull period for Shahid Kapoor as well. Jersey was released thereafter, but it had a long delayed release. Meanwhile, he did Farzi and Bloody Daddy on OTT. While Farzi Webseries was released in Amazon Prime, Bloddy Daddy was released in Jio Cinema.
Now the actor has arrived with Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, there is a bit of resurgence that he is looking at. The film did miss out on being amongst the Top 5 biggest openers of his, but found a place just below that.
