All You Need To Know About Jersey: The upcoming movie of Shahid Kapoor, “Jersey” is the remake of Telugu movie has been one of the most awaited movies of 2020. Shahid Kapoor after his success in Kabir Singh now has a lot of expectations from his fans. The original “Jersey” is a super hit movie in the Tollywood which has an IMDB rating of 8.6. The Telugu movie features Nani and Shraddha Srinath in the lead roles and Harish Kalyan, Sanusha, Sathyaraj, Sampath Raj, and Viswant playing other pivotal roles.
Jersey is basically a story of a cricketer who makes a great comeback to his profession at the age of 36. In a recent interview, Shahid said, “ Kabir Singh gave me a lot of love from my fans. I was very keen to choose my next project but never thought of doing a remake again. But I loved the story of the movie as it somewhat relates to me. I also cried 4 times watching the movie finally took my decision.”
The story of Jersey also promises to be a real-life story based on an Indian cricketer Raman Lamba. Raman was famous for his late entry to the team but also managed to play 32 ODI and made a mark.
Nani can be seen playing the lead role in the original version of Jersey. Remake and original both are directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri. The original version was released in 2019 and as per reports, there will be a delay for the release of the remake due to the Pandemic of Coronavirus.
As per Shahid Kapoor, he has been practicing with the season ball to make it as authentic as possible. Initially, he started playing with the rubber ball which was painted like season balls, but things didn’t work as per need and Shahid switched to sweat out with the season balls. The film also features Mrunal Thakur, Pankaj Kapur in lead.
Interestingly Ranveer Singh’s “83” and Shahid Kapoor’s “Jersey” both have a basic plot of the game cricket. But both of them are completely different characters. Ranveer’s “83” is basically a biography of great Kapil Dev whereas Jersey is typically a sports drama.
Both movies have promised to give a big impact on Boxoffice. Being big-budget movies both of the producers may keep a gap in the release date. Ranveer Singh after the great success in Gullyboy and Simmba has also created a lot of expectations from his fans.
The chances of releasing these movies on the OTT are quite less as both are commercial and expected to touch 100 crore mark. These movies will declare their date as soon as things return to normal from the Pandemic.
