Shahid Kapoor has been roped in to play the lead in Reema Kagti’s film Mr. Chaalu.Saif Ali Khan was supposed to  do the film but has backed out due to remuneration issue with producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.A source said, “Shahid recently got a narration. He has responded positively to the story as it’s the kind of character that he hasn’t done in a while. The makers are now locking the dates for workshops that will start soon.The production house wants to put the project on floors as soon as they can.The film will have many USPs like,it is for the first time that Shahid will share screen space with Kangna Ranaut in a film. The actor will play a womaniser and Kangna will play his love interest in Mr. Chaalu.Pooja Bhatt will also return to the silver screen after a gap of 13 years with the film. She will apparently play the role of a detective in the film.Apart from this, Richa Chadda will also play a pivotal role in the film. She will be seen as one of Shahid’s love interest in Mr. Chaalu.
